He is an aggregator and interpreter of intelligent market data. In October 2013, was selected as "Easter Seals Humanitarian of the Year" for his service to the organization and community. In April 2017, Mike was awarded the Community Service Award by the Mayors Prayer Luncheon Committee for his tireless service the to community over 40+ years. Most recently Mike delivered the Keynote address at McAllen's Veterans War Memorial on Memorial Day.

Founding Partner and Managing Broker 2004-Present
• In 2004, in partnership with a local entrepreneur, joined with NAI Global, to form NAI Rio Grande Valley.
• Trained and directed the team to achieve $150,000,000 in closed commercial real estate transactions in less than four years.
• Manage three regional offices in McAllen, Harlingen and Brownsville with 7 licensed realtors.
1997-2004 Former associate and President for NAI Rioco Realty Services, the predecessor to NAI RIO GRANDE VALLEY.
Contemporaneously with the above, Mike formed The Michael J. Blum Company in 1988. It was created to promote development of the South Texas Border Region and to provide a wide assortment of planning, real estate and development consulting services to business, industry and government. MJBCO was a service bureau for data gathering, research assistance and expert analysis on a wide variety of regional, economic and demographic issues.
