Scope of Experience
Jim Vlahakis, Principal/Managing Partner at NAI Mid-Michigan, holds more than 30 years experience in commercial real estate. In addition to sales and leasing, Jim has extensive experience in commercial and industrial valuation and appraisal, debt & equity restructuring, development projects and property management. His investment property experience includes in-depth investment analysis and project feasibility reports.
Specializing in both retail and industrial services, Jim focuses on leasing and sales representing clients in the disposition and acquisition of all types of commercial property. Jim has a long track record in the lease-up and sale of both value-add and stabilized investment properties, and years of experience in property management driving operational stability and bottom line performance.
In 2013, NAI Mid-Michigan Vlahakis Commercial joined with TMN Commercial to form NAI Mid-Michigan/TMN Commercial. As Managing Partner, Jim provides strong leadership and direction to the overall organization for brokerage and property management.
Background & Experience
Jim and his brother Nick are founding members of Vlahakis Commercial Investment & Brokerage who, in 2007, became NAI Mid-Michigan, the exclusive Michigan Member of NAI Global supporting Eaton, Clinton and Ingham counties. As a company founder and owner, Jim has achieved remarkable growth with over $500M in transaction value and 1.5 MSF of managed property.
Formerly a Level III State Certified Appraiser for the City of Lansing Assessor’s Office, Jim was responsible for appraising commercial and industrial properties, including value defense before the Michigan Tax Tribunal. Jim also wrote building permit inspection reports and worked with the State Tax Commission on local, county and state equalization.
